Welcome to my Bookish Books Wrap-Up for 2024.
Do you have bookish books (books about books) on your bookshelf?

When Susan @ BlogginBoutBooks posted her 2024 Bookish Books Reading Challenge, I jumped on board! Books about books? Sign me up! Well…typically me, I forget to track them and post regular updates. That is not to say I don’t read them! I’m doing the reading and (most of the) reviewing, just not the tracking. I created a mid-year post here. Today, I’m listing all the books about books I’ve read in 2024 for a year-end wrap up. This is also my sign-up post for 2025.
I need to mention one of my bookish pet peeves…..books with key bookish words (magnets for book lovers) in the title that have little to do with books.

โI love the world of words, where life and literature connect.โ ~Denise J Hughes
โReading good books ruins you for enjoying bad ones.โ ~Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
โI read because books are a form of transportation, of teaching, and of connection! Books take us to places weโve never been, they teach us about our world, and they help us to understand human experience.โ ~Madeleine Riley, Top Shelf Text

Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel is scheduled to be my final festive read for this year. Thanks for linking up with us each month and all the best of the season to you.
I hope you enjoy it and all your winter reads!
I love reading books about books. I missed this challenge last year but will definitely sign up for 2025. – Jen best bookish blog
Yay! Iโll look for your posts!
Great job, Carol. I wasn’t impressed by The Little Christmas Bookshop either, Carol. I think I’m going to give up on her books. There’s a few on your list that I will be reading in 2025.
Using bookshop in title to attract readers is not my fav tactic!
I agree, Carol!
Thank you Carol for supporting our #WOYBS? each month. I look forward to your posts and reviews and always find something to add to my TBR list. Sending best wishes to you for the Festive season and I look forward to you joining us with more book reviews in 2025. Sue L x
Thanks Sue! I love joining in! Thanks for your kind words! Happy winter reading!
“repetitive and underwhelming” I love an honest review!
So disappointing from a popular author!
Hi, Carol – Thank you for another thought-provoking post. I would have sworn that this past year I read a few books with the word ‘book’ or ‘library’ (or something similar) in the title. But, glancing through my reading record on Goodreads…not so much. Unless you include nonfiction – then I did read and love 1,000 Books to Read Before You Die by James Mustich. And of course, you include Matt Haig’s ‘Midnight Libary’. In that case, I’ve read two! ๐
Books about books, libraries, and bookshops are so fun!

Hi Carol, it’s always great to see your reviews and your posts for the WOYBS linkup. Thanks for sharing your books with us. You’ve included so many books about books I’d have to have a serious look at my list to see what I’ve written that would fit this challenge. Have a great Christmas and hope it’s filled with many books!
So many books about books this year!
