It’s time for the Summer 2025 TBR! Happy summer reading everyone! Share one book you’re excited to read this summer.
Summer 2025 TBR
I do not make a monthly TBR, but I enjoy curating a seasonal TBR. Ten priority reads over three months is just right. This leaves room for ARCS, library holds, and mood reading.
My Spring TBR reading experience was mostly satisfying (follow the link to see the details). I completed nine out of ten reads: I’m moving that one unread title to my summer TBR because the pub date was moved to August.
I’m linking up today with That Artsy Reader Girl for Top Ten Tuesday: Summer 2025 TBR.

(In no particular order)
The Storytellers by Sue Heath (ARC)

WHY: (ARC) A group of strangers at the library form a writing group and enter a competition…..I’m curious! Pub Date: 8/1/2025
***UPDATE: 4 Stars. Interesting characters and engaging premise (I skipped over the story within the story). My review of The Storytellers here.
Victory for the Foyles Bookshop Girls by Elaine Roberts (ARC)

WHY: (ARC) I find it difficult to resist any book with the word “bookshop” in the title! I didn’t realize this was #6 in a series when I requested it. Hopefully, it will be ok. Pub Date: 7/10/2025
***UPDATE: 4 Stars. A poignant story of friendship and women supporting women. My review of Victory for the Foyles Bookshop Girls here.
The Guest in Room 120 by Sara Ackerman (ARC)

WHY: (ARC) I love Ackerman’s Pearl Harbor histfic books (Radar Girls is my fav), but she is exploring other genres, and I’m not sure I will keep her on the auto-buy list. Giving her some chances. Pub Date: 9/23/2025
***UPDATE: 4 Stars. A dual timeline engaging mystery. Not yet reviewed.
Wedding Bells for the East End Library Girls

WHY: (moving this from my Spring TBR because the pub date was moved…or I read it wrong!) I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment in the East End Library Girls series. Pub Date: 8/14/2025
***UPDATE: 4 Stars. A lovely series finale. My review of Wedding Bells for the East End Library Girls here.
The Last Assignment by Erika Robuck (ARC)

WHY: (ARC) I enjoyed The Invisible Woman by the same author. Pub Date: 8/19/2025.
*** UPDATE: 4 Stars. Fascinating story of a real-life war photographer. My review of The Last Assignment here.
Speak to Me of Home by Jeanine Cummins

WHY: I enjoyed American Dirt and the author’s new title intrigues me. I hope it’s not as harrowing.
***UPDATE: 4 Stars. Compelling complicated family drama. Not yet reviewed.
The Secret Book Society by Madeline Martin (ARC)

WHY: (ARC) I have enjoyed the author’s other work: The Last Bookshop in London, The Keeper of Hidden Books, The Booklover’s Library, and The Librarian Spy. Pub Date: 8/26/2025
***UPDATE: 4 Stars. Women supporting women is at the heart of this story. My review of The Secret Book Society here.
A Bookseller in Madrid by Mario Escobar

WHY: I enjoyed The Forgotten Names by this author. Pub Date: 7/1/2025
***UPDATE: 4 Stars. This author puts the history in historical fiction! My review of A Bookseller in Madrid is here.
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Beth Moran (ARC)

WHY: (ARC) I need to lighten up my TBR! Christmas in August? Why not?! Pub Date: 8/6/2025
***UPDATE: 4 Stars. Romance and a sweet presentation of the Christmas Story. My review of The Most Wonderful Time of the Year here.
Wartime Comes to West India Dock Road by Renita D’Silva (ARC)

WHY: (ARC) I loved New Arrivals on West India Dock Road by the same author, and I’m eager to read more! Pub Date: 7/23/2025
***UPDATE: 4 Stars. It’s nice to catch up with the main characters, but my favorite is still book #1. My review of Wartime Comes to West India Dock Road here.

These all look great! I’m curious about the Sara Ackerman book. It’s been a while since I’ve read anything by her, but I did enjoy her historical fiction.
Ackerman has switched genres and Iโm not sure how I feel about it! Her last one didnโt excite me. Iโm trying to stick with herโฆbutโฆ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I don’t think I’ve ever read a book set in Madrid. I’m adding A Bookseller in Madrid to my list.
I just started it, and itโs very historical! Heโs a great writer and he brings the history to histfic! Happy summer reading!
there are several on your list that look really intriguing to me – including The Story Tellers and The Secret Book Society! My TTT

Great list, Carol. The East End Library Girls doesn’t show on NG for me. I love that series and will read it whether I get an ARC or not. I hope you enjoy all of these books.
I usually end up buying those I think.
I will have to do that, Carol. I do enjoy this series.
I am really looking forward to The Story Tellers! I loved her last book!
That will be my first by the author. Iโll need to check out her backlist.
I just saw THE STORYTELLERS on someone else’s list. I hadn’t heard of it before, but it sounds very appealing! I’m putting it on my TBR list. I hope you enjoy all the books on yours!
Happy TTT!
