For today’s Top Ten Tuesday, I’m sharing ten series that I’ve enjoyed. Do we share a favorite?

Series I’ve Enjoyed

10 Satisfying Book Series (text over a picture of a woman relaxing and reflecting on a blanket in an open field)

I’m linking up today with That Artsy Reader Girl for Top Ten Tuesday. Our official prompt is Book Series I Want to Catch Up On. Because I’m up to date on all my series and I don’t have any new series on the horizon, I’m listing ten of my favorite series. Do we share a favorite?

If you start a series that has been fully published, do you binge-read it? This is one of my favorite reading experiences! I don’t have a great deal of patience for waiting for the next installment (Looking at you, Vol 9 of Emma M. Lion!)

(In no particular order)

Incomplete Series. I’ve read the 8 published volumes. They are quite addictive on audio.

Complete 6 Vol. Series. I enjoyed these WWII home front stories set in England. Women supporting women-

Complete 5 Vol. Series. I loved these young women of the East End during WWII as they worked to keep the library open and supported each other and the community.

Complete 4 Vol. Series. I grew to appreciate Emmy Lake, and my favorite of the series is probably Vol. 2.

Complete 4 Vol. Series. Each installment can be read as a standalone and features one of the four friends. My favorite may be The Belle of Belgrave Square because it was the first one I read. I didn’t realize it was a series when I picked it up.

Complete 3 Vol. Series. The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek is my favorite of the three.

Complete 7 Vol. Series. A Children’s Literature Modern Classic (fantasy).

Complete 7 Vol. Series. An enjoyable chick-lit, women’s fiction series set in Washington State.

Complete 4 Vol. Series. Gilead is my favorite of the four.

Complete 4 Vol. Series. I enjoy Jody Hedlund’s witty, highly entertaining, and page-turning fiction!

  1. Narnia is the only series from your list I’ve read. Of course, I love it.

Iโ€™m hesitant to ever start a series due to the ongoing commitment. I looked through my Goodreads list today of series books Iโ€™ve read over the years and almost all were when I was reading a lot more YA books.

    Good luck.

  2. I’ve read The Narnian Chronicles, the 1st Emmy Lake, the 1st Emma M. Lion, the 1st Book Woman, and 3 of the Gilead series. Other series I’ve loved and read all of, include: the Master and Commander Series by Patrick O’Brian, the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series (aren’t you a fan of those?), and 44 Scotland St series by the same author, the Sue Grafton alphabet mysteries with Kinsey Milhone, The Horatio Hornblower series, Alexander Kent’s seagoing series, Peter Mayle’s Provence books, and Laura Bradbury’s true life Grape series. You might like that one if you haven’t read it. There are 8 or 9 in the series now, all true, starting with My Grape Year, when she goes on an exchange year with France, from Canada. She meets a French boy and falls in love. Adventures ensue, and My Grape Wedding is the fifth book….I love them and I love Laura.

    • Thanks for the recs! I need a new series. Yes, Iโ€™m a completist for the Ladies Detective series, but itโ€™s become repetitive (write-rinse-repeat) that itโ€™s one i read more out of habit than enjoyment. It annoys me that he doesnโ€™t put more effort into it. I love the setting and characters but he needs to retire it.

My fave of Emmy Lake is book 2!

The Emma series is one that gets better the more you readโ€ฆespecially the audio format!

Iโ€™ve never read a Graftonโ€ฆ that might be a good project for 2027!

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

  3. Funny, The Belles of London is on my list to catch up on. I’ve only read the first one. The Bookwoman is a great recommendation, I loved all three of them. Great choices, Carol.

  4. I’ve never read all of Narnia. I read a few out loud to my kids but they lost interest. I’m not much for fantasy but for some reason feel I “should” finish the series some day. Emmy Lake, you know I like her! I forgot about the new Book Woman book. My Mom loved the Belles series, too.
