8 Book Characters That Have Redeemed Themselves
I love a redemption arc! A character that grows and changes is inspiring. Now, if the character is too unlikeable I’m tempted to DNF.
Today, I’m remembering eight characters I’ve grown to love because they made some changes or bravely revealed their true selves.
What book characters do you admire because they have redeemed themselves?

(In no particular order)
Captain Blunt from The Belle of Belgrave Square
This is a fun character to fall in love with!
Captain Kidd from News of the World
What a heart-warming ending as the Captain ponders “doing things right” and “doing the right thing.”
Nico from The Little Liar
This entire, powerful story is one of redemption.
Owen from The Last Lifeboat
Alice and Own are survivors.
Amos from The British Booksellers
I love a curmudgeon!
Naomi from Evacuees at the Wartime Bookshop
You need to read the entire series to fully appreciate Naomi’s redemption in this 4th installment.
Eudora from The Brilliant Life of Eudora Honeysett
As Eudora begins to embrace life, we grow to love her.
Ove from A Man Called Ove
By story’s end, we love Ove!

Ove is a great character to include! I couldn’t think of anyone except Joseph in The No-Show so I didn’t take part this week.
Somehow Ove shows up on almost every list I make! ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐
Nice post ๐น๐น
Ove is a great pick!
He shows up regularly on my lists! ๐
Ove is a perfect choice๐
Thanks! I have to try hard to keep him OFF a list! ๐
Good work! Captain Kidd was really wonderful in the end. And Ove! Love him.
Thanks!
Maybe it’s just me, but I connected with Ove early on in his story. He reminded me of a few people in my family that were special to me. I did shed a few tears at the end of the book.

Yes! Iโm Scandinavian and my family is well populated with Oves! Love these guys!
I loved Ove from the start, but I’m a budding curmudgeon myself, heheh.
An all time fav character! Thanks for commenting!
I’ve not read these, but it looks like a good list!
Have a great week!
