Here’s my January 2024 Reading Wrap Up. How was your first reading month of the new year?

January 2024 Reading Wrap Up

Out of 16 books read, I had two 5-star reads, two 4.5-star reads, ten 4-star reads, and two 3.5-Star reads. I did have one DNF.

My most memorable fiction read in January is The Berlin Letters by Katherine Reay, heartfelt and page-turning historical fiction.

My January was a quiet, cozy, and lovely reading month! Wishing you health, happiness, and a tall stack of 5-star reads in 2024!

DNF

My one DNF is a novella, The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett. It wasn’t bringing me joy and I felt MEH about it, so I set it aside for a more engaging read. I’m not always in the mood for quiet, character-driven fiction. Lots of other readers have loved it.

  1. Hi, Carol – I am impressed with all of the reading that you have done in January. Looks like some great reads here – and some great soon to be published novels. I definitely need to brush up by Netgalley account!

  2. You had a great reading month, Carol! I’m looking forward to reading The Berlin Letters and The Red Notebook. I have enjoyed everything I have read by Katherine Reay, but this one sounds especially intriguing. Also loved An Astronomer in Love, so am looking forward to The Red Notebook.

    • Thanks Gretchen! Iโ€™ve read a couple of womenโ€™s fiction books by Reay but Berlin Letters is a more ambitious read and I loved it! Antoine Laurain has a new release coming this year as well!
