• Book people are the best people
• It’s easy to start a book club or find one
• There are snacks
• Cost is minimal (especially if you borrow books from the library)
• Book talk leads to thoughtful and meaningful discussions of life and builds connections between people

Books About Book Club

I have shared a list listing books about libraries/librarians (some of those also include book clubs) and one listing books about bookshops, but I don’t think I’ve curated a list about book clubs. I have several on my (virtual) bookshelves! Here are a few of my favorites and links to my reviews (when available):

• The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society: A lifetime favorite and most unique book club! I read this before blogging, so I don’t have a formal review. I will need to reread and write that review! Have you read it or seen the Netflix adaptation? …5 Stars

• The Air Raid Book Club by Annie Lyons: Historical fiction, London ….4 Stars
• The Keeper of Hidden Books by Madeline Martin: Historical fiction, Poland, a secret book club …5 Stars
• The Radcliffe Ladies’ Reading Club by Julia Bryan Thomas: Compelling but agenda driven …4 Stars
• The Jane Austen Society by Natalie Jenner: A colorful cast of characters meet to discuss and preserve the works of Jane Austen …4 Stars
