Are you giving flowers or books to Mom? Perhaps there is a special woman in your life you wish to remember/honor? For U.S. Mother’s Day, I have a book list for you!

Is the Special Woman in Your Life a Reader?

Would your mom appreciate a book as a gift?
Are you looking for a book recommendation for your mom or for someone who has been like a mom to you? Maybe you’re looking for a discussable book for book club?

I scoured my favorite titles to find ten books that I would buy for my own mom and would feel comfortable recommending for yours.

I’m linking up today with That Artsy Reader Girl for Top Ten Tuesday: May Flowers.
I’m spinning this topic to “flowers or books” because I’d rather curate a book list rather than find covers with flowers. I rarely notice covers since I read on a Kindle, and with U.S. Mother’s Day this weekend I’d rather have a book than flowers. How about you?

    • If you love early aviation, you might enjoy Uncharted Flight inspired by a real life amazing event! Thanks for commenting…I’m hopping over to read your post.

  1. I really liked The Belle of Belgrave Square. Thank you for sharing the thinking of you meme. I’m thankful for all the women who have loved on me over the years.

  2. All great choices, Carol. I have read over half of these and have several of the others on my TBR shelf. I love that they all have strong female characters.

  3. As pretty as flowers are, I really prefer gifts that are most lasting. A book is perfect! My mom used to read all the time, but she’s gravitated more toward sewing and needlework now. I usually buy her gift cards for those kinds of shops for holidays and her birthday.

Great list! I’ve only read one of these, but a bunch of them are on my TBR list.

    Happy TTT!

  4. An unpopular opinion: I really don’t like receiving books as gifts. I’m an avid reader. There is an extremely good chance that your gift book is one that I had already decided not to read. It then pressures me into reading something I’m not interested in.

If you want to buy me a book, make it a cookbook. You can never have too many of those.
