Summary:
Tilly Nightingale is living with grief after the recent loss of her dear husband. One day, she receives a call from her neighborhood bookstore informing her that her husband had ordered a book for her. Intrigued, she visits the bookstore to pick it up and finds out that her husband has ordered a book a month for her for the next year. She needs to come on the first of each month to claim the book. How will this gift help her in the grieving process? Will she find healing through the power of books? Are you curious about the twelve books he chose? Will the thoughtful and kind bookshop owner become her friend?
My Thoughts:
Books About Books
Book About Books are my kryptonite! Fans of the subgenre will want to add this to their TBRs! Tilly receives a surprise year-of-books gift from her husband, who has recently passed away. As she collects each month’s book, we hear about her experience with reading the books and how an entire year of books helps her heal. I love the variety of books presented over the course of a year. Some are sentimental choices and others challenge or inspire her in new ways. I looked forward to each new title, and her experience with it kept me turning the pages.
Grief
Tilly’s husband knows how much she loves books and imagines how devastated she will be after he is gone, so he arranges a book a month for a year to help her move forward after his passing. At first, she’s not sure how she feels about this gift, but after a few months, she eagerly anticipates the next book. Tilly’s grief is handled gently and realistically. This Book Made Me Think of You explores the healing power of books and reading.
Sweet Romance
In addition to the grieving process, we are treated to a sweet, slow-burn romance! We can predict right from the beginning that sparks might fly between Tilly and the bookshop owner. Over the months, will this thoughtful man win her heart through a shared love of books and his kind support and understanding?
Content Consideration: Loss of a spouse, grief
My Star Rating: 4.5

Yep, I’m a sucker for a book about books or bookstores. I had to laugh though, cos earlier in the week a friend messaged me with a book suggestion. Her opening words were, ‘oh my god, Jo, this book made me think of you.’ Thanks for linking up.
