My Summary:

Thanks @BookSirens and Butterfly Publishing for a complimentary eARC of #TheLakesideChalet upon my request. All opinions are my own.

Living in London, Lucy inherits a lakeside chalet in Tegernsee (Bavaria, Germany). Brokenhearted and seeking a new beginning, Lucy dreams of turning the chalet into a boutique yoga retreat. Even though she receives help from an unexpected group of new friends, she faces some competition from the (handsome!) owner of the town’s luxury hotel. Local politics makes Lucy’s dream more complicated than she first images, but this does not dim her determination or enthusiasm.

My Thoughts:

Chalet + Lakeside + Alps + New Beginnings + Friendship + Enemies-to-Lovers Romance = Yes, Please!

Big Dreams and a New Beginning

New beginnings are inspirational tropes. In The Lakeside Chalet, we cheer for Lucy’s dream of establishing a boutique yoga retreat. We also hope that she discovers a sense of belonging in the close-knit community.

Women Supporting Women

I love themes of friendship and women supporting women! In The Lakeside Chalet, hearing from multiple perspectives helps the pacing and adds drama. Friendship often outshines the enemies-to-lovers, slow-burn romance.

Uplifting

An easy and entertaining weekend read, The Lakeside Chalet is uplifting women’s fiction, and beach bag approved.

Recommending The Lakeside Chalet:

Fans of engaging women’s fiction with themes of friendship, entrepreneurship, and an enemies-to-lovers romance will want to add The Lakeside Chalet to their TBRs. This story is the first in a series, but it reads like a standalone.

Related: In some ways, the story reminded me of Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel by Rebecca Raisin.

My Rating:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

  1. Sounds sweet! Although the blurb made me laugh just a little — wouldn’t we all love to find out we’ve inherited a nice little chalet? ๐Ÿ™‚ I do love stories about women supporting woman and life in small communities, so this could really appeal to me when I need a good escape!
