For Top Ten Tuesday, I’m providing a one-word, one-phrase, or one-sentence review for ten books I haven’t reviewed (DNFs).

I’m linking up with That Artsy Reader Girl: Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Haven’t Reviewed. This is a sampling of books I haven’t reviewed (all DNFs). I’m a frequent and liberal DNFer so my actual list is rather long! You might enjoy this post I wrote about my Love/Hate Relationship With DNF.

Remember: No Two Persons Read the Same Book. My DNF may be one of your favorites.

Bored.
(Plus, I was annoyed that it won the Booker Prize over James.)

Repetitive.

Do you DNF?

    • Iโ€™m a definite outlier for all these! Others have loved Orbital! But there is no plot ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ might be a good library borrow just to see!

  1. Hi, Carol – I’ve only DNF’d a book once. The book was Closer Together by Sophie Trudeau. The book totally was not what I was expecting and not on a topic that was of interest to me. Sadly, I also found it not to be well-written. Totally my fault for not vetting the book more closely before I selected it from our library. <3

  2. I’m in complete agreement with you on Lessons in Chemistry. After all the coverage it got I couldn’t believe how dull it was.

We’ll agree to disagree on Orbital though. I found it fascinating, one of my favourite books of 2024

    • So many have loved it! I think it was a case of wrong book at wrong time and wrong format. Plus I was so mad that it beat out James! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I attempted to read it via audio and I think itโ€™s a book that might be best appreciated in print. Iโ€™ve often thought I should give it another try.

  3. I’m a big DNFer too. I can usually tell within the first 20 pages if I’m going to like a book or not. If it’s a no, I DNF that baby and move on. I ain’t got time to waste on books I don’t like! I haven’t read any of the ones on your list…

    Happy TTT!

  4. Carrie Soto, Lessons in Chemistry and The Husbands were all on my TBR shelf at one time, but reviews convinced me that they weren’t for me. I’m glad I never picked them up. Thanks for giving your reasons for not finishing these books, Carol.

  5. Lessons in Chemisty–most over-hyped meh in history. So women today can’t understand men not obeying laws on harassment? Gee, look around. Sorry–that was snarky. I laughed out loud–not merely “LOL” at your frank assessments. I made it through several of these (and liked a couple of them), but you nailed it on many.
