Great list! I’ll also add…
Under The Ivy – biography of Kate Bush by Graeme Johnson (music biography)
An Equal Music by Vikram Seth (contemporary fiction)
Utopia Avenue by David Mitchell (contemporary fiction)
Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid (contemporary fiction)
Ever Rest by Roz Morris (me!!! contemporary fiction)
Thanks for all the recs! I actually forgot about Ever Rest! Iโll include it in my next updated list! I never read DJ so I didnโt include it, but thatโs a popular title! Thanks for commenting!
Thank you, Carol! I’m sure I’ll think of more now. Great topic.
Loved Frankie Presto! Thanks for the recommendations ๐
Such a memorable story!
I can’t think of any books with musical themes I’ve read. I do love Dolly Parton though and since you recommend My Life in Lyrics in audio format it might be a good walking read.
Oh I think it would be a great walk/listen! Enjoy!
What a fun theme!!
Oh no, another comment in spam. Sorry! Music is FUN!
Dolly Partonโs memoir looks like a great read. Iโve heard so many nice things about her.
Sheโs an admirable person!
Nice topic! There’s a cozy mystery series I found set in a record shop that has musically inspired titles.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Thanks Aymee! Iโm hopping over to read your post now.
Great and fun list! I’m going to have to look into a lot of these books, I don’t think I’ve even heard of some of these. I don’t really do Halloween either so I just listed the book I’m planning to read next month, some with the creepy Halloween vibe ๐

Please know I visited your post but google wonโt let me comment for some reason ๐
Hi, Carol – Great list! Although it is an oldy, I would also add Michael Ondaatje’s Coming Through Slaughter.
Thatโs a title I havenโt heard! Thanks for the rec!
I enjoyed reading The Music Shop. Earlier this year I read a book called Cover Me, where it discusses some of the most popular cover songs. There’s stories behind both the cover and the orignal, but also a discussion of society at the time some of the covers were created.

Oh that sounds like a fun read! Thanks for the rec! Iโm hopping over to read your post.
Great idea for a post! I’ve only read the Jennifer Ryan one. It’s not my favorite of hers, but I enjoyed it. I listened to it on audio, so I got to hear some of the music it included. Super fun.
Happy TTT!

It as my first JR but not my fav because of the weird baby stealing scheme! ๐hopping over to read your post now.
I enjoyed The Chilbury Ladies’ Choir and Simon the Fiddler. The Violin Conspiracy has been on my TBR for… well… a very long time. I enjoyed reading your list and trying to remember which books I’d read.
I hope you enjoy Violin Conspiracy when you get to it! ๐
Adrian McKinty’s Sean Duffy series has book titles that are also song titles. I have made extensive playlists of songs mentioned throughout the books, mostly rock, until the last published one where, for some unknown reason, Sean suddenly becomes a classical music aficionado. ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐๐
Thanks for the rec!
Great list, Carol. I have read 5 of these, and 3 are on my TBR. I just added Ever Rest as well after reading your review on Goodreads. Thanks for the reminder about the ones I had forgotten about.
Thanks Carla! Happy reading!
