Books With a Character Name in the Title #blogger #bookblogger #TopTenTuesday #amreading #blogger #TuesdayBookBlog

I was going to skip TTT this week because I “thought” I had two review commitments for today…then on closer inspection, one is tomorrow and the other is next week (oops!). Suddenly, I have a window of time for TTT but no content. Then, I saw Joanne’s post at Portobello Book Blog and was inspired by her idea of books with a character name in the title. Ove and Eleanor are always at the top of my character lists, so I’ll list other endearing characters that are some of my favorites!

Reading is my favorite sport (text alongside a tall stack of books)

  1. Thank you for the mention Carol. What a great selection! How could I have not thought to include Harold Fry – or Queenie Hennessey or Maureen Fry for that matter? Or Ove? There are just so many aren’t there? ๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. Strange Sally Diamond, Miss Benson’s Beetle, The Mystery of Henri Pick, Verity, Tess of the D’Urbervilles, Jane Eyre, Admiral Hornblower, Mary Jane, The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, Vera, Valentine, My Name is Lucy Barton, Who is Maud Dixon?, Celine, Auntie Poldi and the Vineyards of Etna. Sorry, I got carried away and looked at my READ books going back to 2020! This was a fun list!

  3. Hi, Carol – This is another great book prompt. The only book from your list that I have read so far is Hamnet (which I absolutely adored). For this prompt, I would also add: Jane Eyre, A Man Called Ove, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, Anne of Green Gables and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland…all of which I have read relatively recently.

  4. I just finished reading The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post by Allison Pataki. I found the MP fascinating.

  5. Great choices, Carol. I’ve read and enjoyed all but Lila and Flora Lea. One of my favourites is The Last List of Miss Judith Kratt.
