Today for Top Ten Tuesday I’m sharing five authors I’ve met and five authors I’d love to meet. How many authors have you met?

5 Authors I’ve Met
Although I’ve watched and listened to many author interviews, I haven’t met that many authors in person.
Susan Meissner
At one time, Meissner was local to Southern California and I’ve met her two times. My favorite books by her are The Nature of Fragile Things, A Fall of Marigolds, and As Bright as Heaven.
Kate Quinn
I’ve met her at a couple of book events. One event featured a panel of authors and during lunch, authors sat at different tables with attendees and Kate Quinn sat at my table. Fun! My favorite book by her is The Rose Code.
Marie Benedict
I’ve met her at one event. My favorite book by her is The First Ladies.
Louis Zamperini
Not an author exactly. Laura Hillenbrand interviewed Zamperini and wrote his compelling memoir, Unbroken. I’m counting him because I met him at a fundraising event where he was the featured speaker.
Ray S. Anderson (my dad!)
I must include my father because he wrote over 30 (mostly theology) books! He was a professor of Theology, a pastor, and prolific writer. He often quietly disappeared into his office at family events to work on his current book.
5 Authors I’d Love to Meet
Fredrik Backman
Although I’ve listened and watched online interviews, I would love to meet him in person. I’m a Backman completist, and It’s difficult to choose a favorite book because they are all quite unique. If forced to choose, I guess my favorite is the one for which he is most well-known, A Man Called Ove.
Annabel Monaghan
Annabel Monaghan is my most dependable light women’s fiction author. Her stories check all my boxes for sweet romance (closed door), limited to no profanity, and stories with substance. I guess my favorite is always her latest. I’ve heard her interviewed but it would be fun to meet her.
Percival Everett
I’ve watched Percival Everett interviews online, and meeting him is on my bookish bucket list. James is the only book I’ve read, but I look forward to reading more.
Freya North
Freya North is a thoughtful writer with a reputation for creating relatable and compelling characters and a strong sense of place. I am enjoying her current novella series. [Christmas, Spring, Summer, and Autumn] at Flora’s House, but I first discovered her by reading Little Wing.
Rebecca Raisin
I’ve read several Rebecca Raisin titles, and she would be a fun author to meet! My favorite of hers is Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel. (book love + Paris + slow burn romance)

Kate Quinn was at my library a year or so ago, but I waited too long to decide to go and all of the tickets were snapped up.

I have met and talked to Monica Wood, she was delightful and my favorite of hers is “When We Were the Kennedys”; and I have met and talked to Susan Conley, my favorite book was “Landslide”, and I saw Ann Patchett at an event, but I did NOT get to talk to her. My favorite is her newest one, Whistler. I was supposed to meet/see Caitlin Shetterly earlier this month, but her talk was postponed. Oh, and there are several authors that I have corresponded with, either thru Instagram or email! That’s fun! Several authors I would like to meet are Elizabeth Strout, Amor Towles, Maggie O’Farrell, oh so many!
Authors are the best! Monica Wood is a great one to meet!

Authors are the best!
I’ve only met a few. Claire Keegan, Eliza Knight, Heather Webb, Roz Morris, and the late Marina Lewycka. That said, a good friend of mine from High School published a book, so maybe I should include Dan Greenberger on that list.
That’s a lovely group of authors! I would love to meet Keegan and Webb!
I’d love to meet Fredrik Backman and Annabel Monaghan too!
Backman doesn’t appear in person very often. We might have a better chance with Monaghan!
I love that you included your dad! Also Susan Meissner. She would be a fun one to meet and listen to. I just got an e-ARC of her newest book. Can’t wait to read it.
