The Only Plane in the Sky by Garret M. Graff

On September 11, 2001, America experienced a devastating attack that killed almost 3,000 innocent civilians and wounded over 25,000 others and caused at least 10 billion dollars of infrastructure and property damage. The Day the World Came to Town by Jim DeFede

On 9-11, thirty-eight jetliners bound for the United States were forced to land at Gander International Airport in Newfoundland (Canada). This is the inspiring story of how the people (the heroes) of Gander (a town of barely 10,000) cared for nearly 7,000 passengers with gestures of friendship, acts of kindness, and attitudes of goodwill at a moment’s notice.

A Fall of Marigolds by Susan Meissner

A beautiful scarf with a marigold design connects two women who experience traumatic and personally devastating events almost one hundred years apart. Clara witnesses the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire of 1911 in Manhattan while Taryn witnesses the collapse of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. Both young women suffer loss and experience the effects of PTSD. This is a story of their healing journey and their decision to risk love again.
