My Summary:

Thanks #NetGalley @Headlinepg for a complimentary eARC of #TheBookshopSummer upon my request. All opinions are my own.

A Bookshop Summer is the heartwarming story of a book club, four strangers, community service, and friendship. The story is set in the world of The Lost for Words Bookshop, but it can be read as a standalone.

My Thoughts:

Books About Books

Fans of The Lost For Words Bookshop and fans of books about books will find a great deal to love here! I appreciate the author for including substantial content/themes in addition to the bookshop setting and an abundance of book talk.

Book Club

Four strangers at book club who become a caring, supportive community are the main characters in this heartwarming story. This is a nontraditional book club in that the members enjoy taking turns reading aloud. They enjoy the read-alouds so much that they have a mission to spread the love of books and reading aloud to others in the community. They break up into teams for the read-aloud ventures and then report back to the group. Do you enjoy being read to or would you rather be the reader?

Book People are the Best People

I think book people are the best people, and the characters in Bookshop Summer are fine examples. I loved this caring community of bookish people.

Content Consideration: grief

Recommending A Bookshop Summer:

Fans of the author and books about books will want to add this heartfelt story to their summer TBRs. It’s a compelling follow-up to The Lost For Words Bookshop, and it can be read as a standalone.

My Rating: 4 Stars

Rating: 4 out of 5.
