Do you love books set in hotels or inns? I have a few recommendations today!

I’m linking up today with That Artsy Reader Girl for Top Ten Tuesday. I’m going rogue, because I have very few titles for the official prompt. I have been collecting books where the main setting is a hotel or inn, so I thought this might be a good day to share them. Although I have read all the books on this list, I have not reviewed all of them.

Books Set in Hotels or Inns
(in no particular order)
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles

Character-driven literary/historical fiction.
(I read this before I started writing blog reviews)
The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand

For fans of Elin HIlderbrand.
(not reviewed)
The Wedding People by Alison Espach

Content Warming for suicidal ideation, which, by the way, I don’t consider humorous. However, it’s a popular book that many others loved.
(not reviewed)
The Beautiful Strangers by Camille Di Maio

I have been to this iconic hotel, so it was a nostalgic read for me.
(my review is linked in the title)
The Guest in Room 120 by Sara Ackerman

Historical mystery based on a real-life person and unsolved crime.
(my review is linked in the title)
Christmas at the Little Paris Hotel by Rebecca Raisin

This is my favorite Rebecca Raisin book and probably my fav title on this list!
(my review is linked in the title)
Wartime Hotel Series by Maisie Thomas

Historical fiction (WWII home front) with strong friendship and women supporting women themes.
(review of book one linked in title)
The DollHouse by Fiona Davis

A story of New York City’s Barbizon Hotel for Women in the 1950s.

The Inn on Bluebell Lane by Kate Hewitt

A complicated family drama and a story of new beginnings.

I remember enjoying a Nora Roberts trilogy that features an Inn, The Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy.
Thanks for the rec! ๐
I didnโt read The Gentleman in Moscow but I did watch it and loved it.
Thanks for sharing your #TTT
I need to watch the film adaptation! Thanks for the reminder!
Fab list, Carol. I loved The Dollhouse when I listened to it years ago.
Thanks! ๐ป
Hotels and inns can be great settings for sure!
๐๐
Well, I think A Gentleman in Moscow trumps them all! I can’t even think of any other novels set in a hotel, besides the ones you mentioned— So I googled it and came up with The Maid by Nita Prose! All of that series is set in a hotel! As well as, going way back, Hotel by Arthur Hailey. Side point: My mother and I adored “Gentleman” but we did not like the series so much. It was dark and seemed to dwell on the dark aspects, rather than the many whimsical and loving and light moments, the amazement of how he lived in the Hotel so long and lived a full life! See what you think.
I watched the first episode of GiM but forgot about watching the rest! Oops! ๐ฌ such a memorable book!
The Book Club Hotel looks cute! And I love its cover! My TTT
Yes, itโs a cozy cover! Hopping over to read your postโฆ..
I do not yet have a favorite hotel/inn book, but I do have two on my TBR that I am on the verge of reading at any moment: The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel & Stephen King’s The Shining.
Love this theme!
I havenโt read either one. Thanks for the recs!
A great collection! I have a couple of these on my TBR. Hotels and Inns can be such an interesting setting for a story.
Here’s my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/first-or-last-book-titles/
memorable and cozy settings
Now that’s a fun topic! Great work!!
Thanks! ๐
What a fun topic! I know I’ve read books with a hotel setting… and the only one I can come up with right now is The Wedding People!
Memorable settings! ๐
I still haven’t read The Gentleman in Moscow, but I fully intend to. I have read many of the others and they are good picks.
I read it in chunks and that seemed to work well!
I’ll have to give that a try.
I do enjoy books set in hotels and inns, although I haven’t read any of these. Several of them are on my TBR list, though.
Happy TTT!
