I’m linking up today with That Artsy Reader Girl for Top Ten Tuesday. Jana has a great spin on the prompt, which I wish I had thought of! I’m going rogue with a list of books set in the distant past.

I have read all the books on this list, but I have not reviewed them all on the blog. Titles are linked to my reviews.

  1. Thank you for this excellent list, Carol! I love that you’ve included books from different parts of the world and not just Europe. I was intrigued by the setting of *The Frozen River* and *Cloud Cuckoo Land* is one of my favourites. I’d definitely be interested in reading *Lady Tan’s Circle of Women* as well. Great post!

  2. I love historican fiction, but I don’t tend to read anything set before about 1800. Not sure why. I really should branch out! I have read THE FROZEN RIVER and THE GIRL WITH THE PEARL EARRING. Great list. I need to check some of these out.

    Happy TTT!

    • ๐Ÿ˜‚ thereโ€™s a definite difference between books written in the past and currently written books SET in the past! Some of those classics are difficult reading! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  3. The cover of The Girl with the Pearl Earring always reminds me of Muskrat Ramble by Mim Eichmann. I believe she used her ballet students for her covers, but it’s a similar expression that echoes for me.
