Today’s post is focused on recommending books to end your reading slump. The only time I experience a reading slump is when a book has given me a “book hangover.” As a result of the book hangover, nothing looks as promising as my previous reading experience. Have you ever experienced a reading slump?

Fab list, Carol. I always go for favourites if I hit a slump.
I just reread Still Alice because I had a book hangover!
First of all, what a great quote on the bag! Next, these are some lovely book recs, thanks you.
Thank you! Fun prompt this week!
Sipsworth was excellent!
A memorable story!
Wonderful list with some excellent categories and choices! And I love your last item, because it’s so perfect. Sometimes, revisiting an old favorite is the perfect way to be reminded of why we love reading so much!
I just reread Still Alice because The Correspondent gave me a book hangover. Also I want to watch the film adaptation and I read the book years ago.
Another great list, Carol. When I get in a slump, and really never have, but if I’m not sure what I want to read, I usually go with a cozy mystery.
Thanks Carla! It was a fun list to make!
Great ideas – something for everyone!
Thanks Joanne!
I try to catch my slumps, hangovers, and burnouts before they become too big. I’ll switch up genres or pick up a graphic novel.

Switching genres and graphic novels are both great strategies!
Ordinary Time!
I really need to read Sipsworth and listen to Project Hail Mary! I loved The Martian on audio!
I hope you enjoy them both!
Project Hail Mary made my list too. I really want to reread it because it’s so much fun.
The audio is fabulous! I want to relisten to it before the movie next year!
Great suggestions! I don’t really have reading slumps, but I can see reading a short story or novella to get out of one. Good advice.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Susan

PHM is especially great on audio! Heading over to read your postโฆ.
For some reason, I couldnโt get signed in to comment on your post. The only book Iโve read on your list is Skipping Christmas. Lots of good titles for future reference!
I’m sorry for that, Carol. I had to block anonymous comments because I got lots of hateful spam. See here:

I have that problem of not being able to sign in with some non-blogpost pages. I usually can do when I switch provider from Firefox to Google or vice-versa. Maybe that helps you, as well.
Thanks!
I need this because Iโve been rationing the chapters of the book Iโm reading. I donโt know what to read next, haha.

I do find shorter stories and/or light-hearted reads to be helpful cures!
Yes! These are helpful! I have also picked up a middle grade read!
