Are you giving flowers or books to Mom? Perhaps there is a special woman in your life you wish to remember/honor? For U.S. Mother’s Day, I have a book list for you!
Flowers or Books?

Is the Special Woman in Your Life a Reader?
Would your mom appreciate a book as a gift?
Are you looking for a book recommendation for your mom or for someone who has been like a mom to you? Maybe you’re looking for a discussable book for book club?
I scoured my recently read titles to find ten books that I would buy for my own mom and would feel comfortable recommending for yours.
I’m linking up today with That Artsy Reader Girl for Top Ten Tuesday.
I’m going rogue this week because the topic (authors who live in my state) will take more effort than I can devote this week. I’m spinning the topic to “flowers or books” because curating a book list for U.S. Mother’s Day feels fun! These are all newish releases that might appeal to your mom. I’d rather have a book than flowers. How about you? It would be extravagant to buy her both!

This is lovely and a few books there I’ve read. We’ve already had our Mother’s Day. I love your thoughtful Mother’s Day graphic.
Thanks Joanne! ๐ป

Thanks so much!
Please, please, books—no flowers! And I’d love to read The Correspondent and Ordinary Time. Thank you for this great list.
Yes to all the books! I hope you love The Correspondent (my best read of the year so far!).
Sipsworth was a good read!
Itโs memorable!
I would love to receive any book for Mother’s Day, but from this list The Berlin Apartment would top the list.

Berlin Apartment sounds interesting! I highlighted authors from Alabama.
Itโs a memorable story! Iโm hopping over now to see your list!
Great list, and I love the topic! For me, I’d always rather have books than flowers ๐
Thanks!
Nice! I love the cover on Ordinary Time! And, I just might get my Mom By Her Own Design–thanks!
Thanks! ๐ Iโm glad you found a title!
Flowers are nice, but I definitely prefer books! My mom’s not much of a reader anymore, so I usually get her a gift certificate to her favorite craft supply store. All of the books on your list sound great. I haven’t read any of them.
Happy TTT!

I love crafts as well! Great gift!
Great book recommendations, Carole. Sadly, my mother is no longer a book reader, but my daughter-in-laws are! <3
Thanks! The Correspondent is a must read for mature women!
I never get tired of recommending Sipsworth! Love your list.
A memorable read! ๐ Donโt miss The Correspondent!
Off topic but have you ever used a buy me a coffee or some other donation platform on your blog?
I use Ko-fi for blog donations. Donations are easily my best income stream right now.
Good to know! Is that the best one? Have you tried others?
Love your theme this week!
I have Sipsworth here to read at some point! It’s just a question of when!
I hope you enjoy the read Marg!

What a thoughtful and great list, Carol. Definitely something for everyone. Funny, I just recommended By Her Own Design to a group of women on Saturday. We were talking about racism, and how it is still happening in subtle ways, and I suggested that book.
I love so much about that book! Itโs really flying under the radar. I thought it would be talked about more. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
