    • One of my fav quotes is from Gileadโ€ฆfrom a father to a young sonโ€ฆ

“I’m writing this in part to tell you that if you ever wonder what you’ve done in your life, and everyone does wonder sooner or later, you have been God’s grace to me, a miracle, something more than a miracle. “

  1. You’ve picked a few that I rate highly also – Hamnet and Homegoing especially. Not sure I can use the word “enjoyable” when talking about Room but it was certainly a novel with impact

    • I was especially struck by the second half of the book after they escaped and her trauma and recovery. She certainly spared her son but it took a toll on her!

  2. What a fascinating list! I’ve read 5 of them. You didn’t say if these were books you LOVED “WITH” a one word title, or just one word titles, good or bad book. I think they are books you loved. But I made a list of 15, and I think one word titles are so much more distinctive and set apart than multi word titles like, “Thinking About You” “A Day in Time” “Even If” “The Meadows” “What She Said”, etc. These are the one word books that I really liked: Brood, Migrations, Mercury, Commonwealth, Quiet, Burn, Sandwich, Wool, and Piglet. Ones I didn’t like as much include Orbital, Midnight (by Amy McCulloch), Quantum (by Patricia Cornwell), Day, and Pachinko.

    • Quiet almost made my list! And youโ€™ll notice Orbital did NOT! ๐Ÿ˜‚ yep. These are all books Iโ€™ve really liked and/or loved! One word titles are strong, confident, bold, and memorable! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
