Eleanor Roosevelt and Mary McLeod Bethune, The First Ladies (powerful interracial friendship and partnership)
Yunxian and Meiling, Lady’s Tan’s Circle of Women (life-long friends and partners in medicine)
Zofia and Janina, The Keeper of Hidden Books (devoted friends despite the risk in Nazi-controlled Poland)
Mab. Olsa, and Beth, The Rose Code (women supporting women)
Mma Ramotswe and Grace, The Ladies #1 Detective Agency series (heartwarming friendship)

Viola, Sarah, Emily, and Georgiana, Sisters of Sea View (four very different sisters work together to maintain the family home and support themselves after the death of their father)
Lily and Artie, Orphan Twins (siblings maintain their strong bond even while separated)
Hadia, Huda, and Amar, A Place For Us (siblings have a complicated relationship in this amazing and heartwarming family drama)
Jo, Beth, Amy, and Meg, Little Women (well-loved and famous sisters)

Multi-generational Friendship

Woody and Old Man, West With Giraffes (found family, father-figure, mentor)

Hummm….I have more than ten but you’re lucky I haven’t listed one hundred! What a wonderful prompt! What is one of your favorite character relationships?

  1. I’m not surprised to see Ryland and Rocky on several lists today (they’re on mine too). They’re definitely what makes that book so great! I didn’t even think about The Sisters of Seaview, though I have read it and have the 2nd book on my TBR right now. There are so many books with great relationships to choose from!

  2. Ryland and Rocky for sure! PROJECT HAIL MARY wouldn’t have been nearly as good if it hadn’t included that relationship. Johanna and the captain is a great one, too. I love how they got to know each other so well during their adventures together.

    Happy TTT!

  3. What a wonderful, thought-provoking list. My brain is definitely overwhelmed today, but I will be thinking about my list over the next few days.
