Just for fun, I’m creating four posts about “bookworms” in September:
“Top 5 Ways to Catch a Bookworm”
“Top 5 Bookworm Problems”
“Top 5 Reasons to be With a Bookworm” (today’s post)
“Top 5 Things a Bookworm Would Never Do”
Top 5 Reasons To Be With a Bookworm
I’m linking up today with Meeghan at Meeghan Reads for Top 5 Tuesday: Top 5 Bookworm Problems.
For me, being with a bookworm is never a “problem.” It’s always a joy. However, if you were a nonreader, I can see how being with a bookworm might be a problem.

A Bookworm Has Book Recommendations
My greatest delight is thinking of the perfect book for you, your spouse, or your mom, or your best friend, or….you get the idea! I love to match books with their readers. Need a book recommendation? Ask a bookworm!

#2
Book People Are the Best People
- Book People are well-read on a variety of topics
- Reading encourages compassion, tolerance, thoughtfulness, and understanding
- They tend to be interesting conversationalists
- Book People can entertain themselves anywhere and are never bored
- Avid readers usually read a great deal of historical fiction (if history is your interest, you might find interesting conversation)
- Readers usually have good imaginations
How about you? Do you have a bookworm in your life? What do you love about her?

Bookworms Have Opinions About Popular or Hyped Books
Ask a bookworm about the current bestseller and I imagine she has an opinion!

#4 Bookworms are Easy to Buy Gifts For
Any bookstore will have an assortment of gifts for bookworms!

#5
Bookworms are Never Bored
For instance, your bookworm friend drives you to the doctor and it’s a long wait. No problem for a bookworm who always carries a book (physical or digital) with her. A long drive ahead? No worries for a bookworm who always has an audio book recommendation. A thirty minute wait in the school pickup line or an hour at soccer practice? A bookworm’s delight! You are with a person who has an errand……a bookworm is happy to sit in the car and read! Saturday morning with nothing to do? A bookworm might go to her local bagel shop and read while she munches on a whole grain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Bookworms are so easy to entertain!

QOTD: Do you have a bookworm in your life? What is one of your reasons to be with a bookworm?

Happy Reading Bookworms!
“Ah, how good it is to be among people who are reading.”
~Rainer Maria Rilke
“I love the world of words, where life and literature connect.”
~Denise J Hughes
“Reading good books ruins you for enjoying bad ones.”
~Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
“I read because books are a form of transportation, of teaching, and of connection! Books take us to places we’ve never been, teach us about our world, and help us to understand human experience.”
~Madeleine Riley, Top Shelf Text

I’m really enjoying your Bookworm series. I fit every one of those descriptions.
Lol! 😂 we’re certainly easily identified! Thanks for commenting!
This is such a wonderful list. I agree with all of this. I especially like Book People Are the Best People
Thanks Wendy! 🙌💖
I’m also adding that book people know a lot of trivia, especially those of us that read historical fiction. We’re popular during game nights!
Oh that’s a good one, Adrienne! 🙌💖
I’m definitely in agreement with number 5. It astonishes me the number of people I see waiting in train stations/hospitals/dentists etc that have nothing with them to read.
Right?! How do they do it?
No idea. I’ve seen people take international flights too without even a newspaper to read.
I definitely agree with the part about easy to buy gifts for! I never know what to get non-bookworms, but books are easy!
Right?! 🙌📚
I have two friends that I would classify as bookworms. We share books, recommend them to each other and talk about what we are reading. Wonderful to share my love of books with friends. I am loving this series, Carol.
Thanks Carla! I have a couple of friends that are true bookworms….my other friends tolerate me!

I am a bookworm
So true- bookworms have wonderful imaginations. I have a wild imagination- had that since I was a kid. One of the things I love about being a bookworm is connecting and falling in love with characters
How do we have room in our brain for all these beloved characters?! Thanks for sharing!
In my case, I somehow have room for BOTH already created character and new characters. As in, I actually have created some one my own. Having room of both for them is hard to think about at times.
Sounds fun though! You’re never at a loss for entertainment!
