5 Light Women’s Fiction Reads

My focus-challenged COVID brain craves lighter reads recently. Does yours?
Carla @ Carla Loves to Read suggested these two authors that were just right! So, in the event that you might be looking for some lighter women’s fiction at the moment, here are five suggestions! (I’ve also linked to Carla’s reviews)
Moonlight Harbor Series by Sheila Roberts
Something I rarely do is to read a series out of order! I picked up Beachside Beginnings not realizing that it is #4 in a series. It is great as a stand-alone but not knowing the backstories of the characters bugs me. So, I binge-read #1, #2, and #3 the next weekend! I’ll definitely read #5 when it comes out. Each book in the series can be read as a stand alone.
The four books take place in the small beach community of Moonlight Harbor located along the Pacific Northwest Coast of the United States and all feature women finding the courage and inspiration to overcome obstacles and live their best lives. Some (closed door) romance is involved and the genre dictates a HEA (happily ever after) ending. I have given each one a solid 3-3.5 Star rating. After I read the series, I think my favorite is Beachside Beginnings (#4) (3.5 Stars) followed by Welcome to Moonlight Harbor (#1) (3.5 Stars). Winter at the Beach (#2) and The Summer Retreat (#3) earn 3 Stars each.
Recommended for fans of Sheila Roberts and readers who are looking for light women’s fiction with a side of romance and HEA. (Carla’s full review of Beachside Beginnings here)
Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow by Jessica Redland
Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow is also a lighter women’s fiction read but with slightly more complicated themes than the above series. It’s heartfelt and charming with generous sides of friendship, compassion, and hope. Of course, there’s also hedgehog rescue! I read it in one day! 4 Stars. (Carla’s full review here)

Meet the Authors:
Sheila Roberts
USA Today best-selling author Sheila Roberts lives in the Pacific Northwest and has three children and one long-suffering husband. Her books have been printed in many different languages. Her Christmas perennial “On Strike for Christmas” was made into a movie for the Lifetime Channel and her novel “The Nine Lives of Christmas” was made into a movie for Hallmark. When she’s not playing with girlfriends or on the tennis court Sheila can be found writing about those things dear to women’s hearts: family, friends, and chocolate.
