6 in 6 [2020]

6 best in 6 months (image: a collage of 6 book covers)

The Six in Six is a meme created by Jo at The Book Jotter At the end of June (or in my case, mid-July!) we are halfway through the year,  so the idea is to share the books we have read in those first 6 months.

In the true spirit of the meme, we are asked to share 6 books in 6 categories. Because of the time factor, we can create a post with whatever combination works for us as long as it involves 6 books. Nicki @ The Secret Library Book Blog inspired me to participate in this meme.

For this 6 in 6 post, I will begin by listing the 6 best books I’ve read so far this year. Then I will add 6 additional categories but each category will have only one selection (not 6).

6 Best Books I’ve Read in 6 Months!

Best? These are books that left me with a book hangover and a satisfying feeling of time well spent. They represent a mix of genres and tones.

1.

The Girl With the Louding Voice by Abi Dare

In this list of 6, this is a STANDOUT…..The Girl With the Louding Voice is separated from the other five by a huge gap: there’s The Girl With the Louding Voice and then there are the others.

Why I love it: INSPIRATIONAL

    • I’m glad we both loved it! You know it’s a great book when it lingers in our memories! I love stories of real heroes!

  1. Taking notes!! Love that you give real summaries and opinions so I can realy get a feel for a book before I track it down! How is your summer going Carol? We’ve had unexpected (but wonderful) kid visits after not seeing them for months. And today waiting for a new fridge delivery after our old one died over a week ago– it’s been tricky!) Happy Reading!

    • Thanks Rhonda! I’ve enjoyed your kid visit pics on Instagram! We all need a sense of normal in these times! We’re just taking one day at a time over here…..the silver lining in all this is discovering Walmart grocery shopping online (super center in Anaheim by Lowes) and pick up….. no extra fees, no tipping…..fast and efficient and I can get most everything. I’ll probably never go into a grocery store again! I’m waiting for my fridge to die….but maybe I’m just hoping! I’d love a new one…enjoy!!!
