Have you read a book and thought “I wish there had been a little bit more closure?” Then do you think about the book and the ending for a few days as you mull over various ways it could have ended or do the characters linger in your mind for days and you worry about them? It’s not that you were unhappy with the ending, but you were simply left wanting more. I have listed a few books below that made me wish for a sequel. Do you agree with any of my picks? What books would you put on your list?

Merci Suarez Changes Gears by Meg Medina and Front Desk by Kelly Yang and Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed
These three titles are representative of excellent middle grade fiction, and I always wonder what the smart and determined main characters are doing with their lives! I’ve love to hear more about these difference makers: Merci, Mia, and Amal.

The Mothers
This is one read where I was a bit dissatisfied with the ending. I felt it fizzled out a bit and I’d like for the author to add an epilogue or write a sequel!

How to Find Love in a Bookshop
In these story, I was completely satisfied with the ending, but I would like a sequel so that I can revisit the colorful characters and delightful setting once again! (I would say the same about Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, but the author is no longer living.)

I haven’t read any of these books yet. So many books, so little time. I think that was one of the driving forces behind my starting to write fanfiction a few years ago. I just needed to know what happened to those characters! (or change the ending, as the case was with Divergent).
Yes….soooo many good books! I read the first 2 Divergent and skipped 3 because of mixed reviews…..so I decided to DNF the series while I was still satisfied with the story. Thanks for commenting and I wish you much success in your writing ventures!

I might melt if I read a sequel to Eleanor & Park. That would be so great. I wanted to know more about Aaron Falk in Force of Nature too.

She was over 70 when it got published! Very inspiring. I wonder if a savvy publisher held back some of the story? I haven’t researched to see if there is a sequel, but as well as it has done I bet they want another book from her!
Eleanor & Park made my list, too! I need to know what happened after the end of that book!
