October Wrap Up
I completed seven reads this month, abandoned one, and set one aside for further consideration. This month I also met my 2018 Goodreads Challenge of 100 books!

HI Carol– I cannot believe your read 7 books in October!! You are amazing! My favorite book this month was I’d Rather Be Reading by Anne Bogel– short but bright and funny and so true if you’re a reader!! Still half way through Mrs. Lewis. xox
How are you liking Mrs Lewis?
Hi Carol– liking it well enough– but not really loving Joy as a person. Only half through. We’ll see… (and I’m doing a talk on C.S.Lewis and the Narnia books in January– so he’s on my mind. hugs friend!
On an encouraging note, I grew to appreciate Joy more in the latter half of the book as she reflected on her youth, analyzed her past behaviors and motives, and sought to become a better person. Learning about her childhood and early experiences helped build compassion for her. I think Lewis was very attracted to her mind! You’ve got to admire her tenacity and determination!
Hi Carol– I liked the book well enough– but was a bit disappointed. I think because I loved CS Lewis and his work so much and also The Shadowlands movie. I wanted to like Joy more. But I’m glad I read it! What you up to this weekend?? I’m driving up to SF (Again!). hugs hugs!
Yes…I agree with wanting to like Joy more…but they really loved each other. It seemed like the book was well researched.
It looks like I might need to buy a new washer & dryer this weekend 😩 I guess I know what I’m getting for Christmas!

It’s been getting used a lot more use this year since my daughter and grandson have been with us!
